Charlottesville Ballet is a professional ballet company, danceacademy, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Founded in 2007,Charlottesville Ballet is the only full-time professional dancecompany in the Charlottesville area. Mission: To be a new voice inthe ballet world-- enhancing the art of dance by promoting healthand well-being, providing access to the community through danceeducation, and celebrating diversity through innovativeperformance. Charlottesville Ballet’s unique company culture ofdancer health and well-being has brought extremely talented artiststo the organization, fueling an expansion in its educationalcapacity and role in the community. In July 2011, CharlottesvilleBallet launched its new ballet training school, CharlottesvilleBallet Academy—the only nonprofit school of dance in the area. Nowwith over 70 students, the Academy furthers the company’s missionby training new generations of healthy dancers, dance aficionados,and patrons of the arts.
